How to send a copyright notice
Send an email to admin@slabrepublic.com with the subject "DMCA notice". Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), your notice needs all of the following:
- Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full legal name works), as the copyright owner or someone authorized to act for them.
- The copyrighted work you say is being infringed. If there are several, a list of them.
- The material on Slab Republic you want removed, with enough detail for us to find it. A link to each listing, post, profile or stream is best.
- Your name, mailing address, phone number and email address.
- This statement: "I have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law."
- This statement: "The information in this notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, I am the owner, or authorized to act on behalf of the owner, of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed."
What happens next: we review the notice, remove or disable access to the material when the notice is complete, and tell the member who posted it. We send them a copy of your notice, which includes your contact details, so they can respond. A notice that is missing one of the items above may not be acted on; we'll tell you what's missing.
How to send a counter-notice
If your content was removed because of a copyright notice and you believe it was removed by mistake or misidentified, email admin@slabrepublic.com with the subject "DMCA counter-notice". Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3), it needs all of the following:
- Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full legal name works).
- The material that was removed and where it appeared before it was removed (the link or listing name).
- This statement: "Under penalty of perjury, I have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification of the material to be removed or disabled."
- Your name, mailing address and phone number.
- This statement: "I consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which my address is located (or, if my address is outside the United States, any judicial district in which Slab Emporium LLC may be found), and I will accept service of process from the person who provided the original notice or an agent of that person."
What happens next: we send a copy of your counter-notice to the person who sent the original notice. If they don't tell us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action to stop the infringement, we restore the material within 10 to 14 business days after we received your counter-notice.
Repeat infringers
Slab Republic suspends or closes the accounts of members who repeatedly infringe copyrights.
Please be accurate
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly makes a false claim in a notice or counter-notice can be liable for damages. Only send a notice for material you own or are authorized to act for.
